Building the Army in 25mm

Ever since the 1970s there has been a plethora of figures from almost as many manufacturers for war gaming the Napoleonic Wars.  I started collecting figures in the 70s, and for a variety of reasons (historical accuracy, anatomical correctness, completeness of range, etc) I opted for the 25mm high models produced by Miniature Figurines Ltd, of Southampton.

The choice for the war gamer of the eighteenth century has always been more limited, and although the period of 'The Lace Wars' has fascinated me ever since I first read  "Charge!",  the lack of figures that reflected my perception of the appearance of an eighteenth-century battlefield had prevented me from entering into the period.  Fortunately the recent appearance of Frank Hammond's "Minden Miniatures" has finally encouraged me to take the plunge and start gaming in the period of the Seven Years' War.   I have a long way to go before I build an army, not least because Frank is still completing the range, but mighty oaks from little acorns grow!

Until Minden Miniatures complete their range, it is impossible to cost the entire project.
